As a little girl, Hayley Munroe dreamed of owning her own dance studio, a studio where she would be able to teach and choreograph. On July 1, 2015, The Studio opened and her dream became her reality. As the owner and artistic director of The Studio, Hayley draws on more than 25 years of experience as a dancer and 14 years working as a teacher of dance. She is versed in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, lyrical and pointe. Hayley is in charge of The Studio's contemporary, lyrical and jazz programs.
Hayley is a certified event planner who works at Inbloom Consulting. A downtown Cleveland resident who runs marathons in her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
The Studio's tap, cheer and tumbling programs are led by Kayla Heckathorn, a 2010 Baldwin Wallace graduate with a passion for dance and cheer. Kayla studied dance at the Stage Door Fine and Performing Arts school, and earned a minor in dance (and a major in sports management) at Baldwin Wallace. Kayla is familiar with tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, and modern dance, and has competed in tap and jazz at competitions such as Ohio Dance Masters, Showstopper, and Kids Artistic Revue (KAR). She also participated in BW’s annual Dance Concert and was a member of the football and basketball cheerleading squads for four years. As a staff member at Cheer Time Athletics, she taught cheers and choreographed dances for middle-school and high-school cheerleading squads.
Miss Rebecca leads The Studio's hip hop, musical theatre and preschool programs. Rebecca has studied dance for more than 29 years, and has worked as a choreographer and teacher since high school. After a stint in the US Army, Rebecca returned to dancing. She has performed with and choreographed for many community theatres in the area. Rebecca has also choreographed for the IHS Music Department for the past 13 years. Her particular areas of interest include tap, jazz and hip hop.
Julie Schullo's expertise shape The Studio's ballet programs. Julie is a graduate of University of Akron Dance Institute, where she teaches as an adjunct faculty member and serves as the rehearsal director for the biannual ballet, The Snow Maiden. Julie is the rehearsal mistress for Lines Ballet and Doug Varone and Dancers, and was co-founder, general manager and a dancer for Illuminata Dance Theater for four years. She has also choreographed for Actor's Summit Theater. Julie is versed in ballet, pointe, modern, lyrical, jazz and Pilates, and has taught all ages.
